The Brass In
Concert Championship ::..
Since the “one-off” event in 1977, the Brass
in Concert Championship has had three homes. From 1977 to
1982, the contest was presented at the Beehive Ballroom in
Darlington, from 1983 to 1985, the venue moved to the Dolphin
Centre in Darlington and in 1986 we arrived at Spennymoor
Leisure Centre, which has been “our home” for
the last nineteen occasions.
This year (2006) the Brass In Concert Championship will
celebrate its 30th Anniversary, and will again be enjoying
its new home at the Sage Gateshead. The Sage offers an outstanding
facility for live music and with its views over the River
Tyne it is the perfect setting for an event such as ours.
Too often in the Past we have had to turn many people away
from the contest, as we have been restricted to selling 800
tickets. The Concert Hall at the Sage has a capacity of 1650
seats and is designed to the highest international standards,
will have excellent acoustics and state-of-the-art technical
facilities. We look forward to the pleasure of your company
this November.
