Brass and Percussion Workshops and Brass Taster Session Will be led by Philip Harper and principles of Cory Band- to conclude their workshop experience participants will demonstrate their learning in a public performance on the Sage concourse. This concert is free and enables the public to hear the workshop band in the iconic Sage public area. In his announcement Chairman of Brass in Concert Championships John commented “The acoustic s for this are brilliant with fabulous views of the Tyne and the city skyline an added benefit.” Workshop Tutors will be from the Cory Band and the Elementary groups to be led by Laura Jackson.

Registration for the workshops commences at 8.45am on 18th November. Cost £5 including lunch-demand is expected to be high so early registration is recommended. Taster Sessions will also be taking place on the concourse foyer of the Sage between 10.30am and 1pm encouraging the general public to have a go on a brass instrument. The sessions will again be lead by Dave Coles Stuart Ralph and Gary Hutchinson. Brass in Concert continues its partnership with Gateshead Schools Music Services Hub and Music Partnership North (Northumberland) and North Tyneside Music services -all enthusiastic and supportive of BiC’s mission to: To offer opportunities through music to young people to advance their education and training in the playing of brass and percussion instruments, through taster session, workshops and personal tuition
